Burna Boy was born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu on July 2, 1991, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Ogulu grew up in Southern Nigeria and he began making his own beats using FL (FruityLoops) Studio. He attened Corona Secondary School in Agbara (which is in Ogun State), and he then transferred to London to further his education. From 2008 to 2009, he attended to University of Sussex. From 2009 to 2010, Ogulu attended Oxford Brookes University. While attending both universities, he studies media technology, media communications, and culture. After finishing college, he took a year-long internship at Rhythm 93.7, which is a radio station in Nigeria. Ogulu started his music career after returning back to Lagos. Burna Boy released his debut album in 2013 called L.I.F.E which is the follow-up to his second mixtape Burn Identity from 2011. On Nigeria Entertainment Today, they listed L.I.F.E as number 10 out of 12 of the Best Albums of 2013. L.I.F.E. also was number 7 on the BillBoard Reggae Albums chart. Since the start of his career, Burna Boy has put out a series of projects: On a Spaceship, Outside, African Giant, Twice as Tall, and Love, Damini.

On July 8, 2022, Burna Boy released Love, Damini which contains hip hop, pop, and afrobeat songs. His most popular songs are Kilometre and Last Last. His most popular songs are such a vibe to the point where they are popular on social media such as TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter. Kilometre is my all time favorite because of the beats and the reggae vibes the song gives. I would definitely play Kilometre at any party/event I have! Last Last is one of those songs that you can just sing along to and just groove. The song makes you feel like you're on the Islands because of the type of music Burna Boy creates! The album as a whole is a vibe and I recommend it to anyone who likes Afrobeats!

Burna Boy as an artist? AMAZING. First off, he would be every woman's dream! Burna Boy is educated, he can sing, and he's handsome? I would not be surprised if he is out here breaking hearts! As an artist, he delivers something new. I mean being able to incorporate afro pop, hip-hop, rap, all into one? That is pure talent! I hope to see him branch out and collaborate with other R&B Artists like Summer Walker, Ari Lennox, or maybe even Erykah Badu. Only time will tell, and I am hoping for elevation within his music career!
