Durkio Season

"Everybody always going to sound like somebody. You got to separate yourself." This rapper is known for singles such as Homebody, Difference Is, Should've Ducked, 3 Headed Goat, Turn Myself In, and Die Slow. If you still didn't figure it out yet, it is hip hop trap drill rapper Lil Durk aka Durkio. As everyone knows, Lil Durk is a father of 6 and a great fiancé to India Royale. I noticed that a lot of fans are into Lil Durk because of how he digs deep into his past history. The rapper converted to Islam and he changed his life. If you ever go on instagram, you'll see that Durk posts motivational quotes on his stories on instagram and his twitter.

Born as Durk Derrick Banks, the artist was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois on October 19, 1992. He had a rough upbringing as a child, but he found an outlet. Banks started his music career on MySpace and Youtube and he grew rather fond of music. The artist started to take music seriously after he became a teen parent. After becoming a father, he dropped out of high school and joined a street gang called the Black Disciples. In 2011, Durk ran into legal trouble but he took a turn for the best. During the same year, Durk released singles sneak dissin' and I'ma Hitta which songs have gotten positive feedback! After the release of those 2 songs in 2012, he released Ain't No Joke. After dipping his feet in music for a couple of years, Durkio was signed to Def Jam Recordings! Since then, Durk has been making his mark in the music industry. Listening to his music, makes me feel like I'm listening to Nardo Wick. I honestly love listening to Durk because he'll have me act like a gangsta one day, but then he turns me into a simp.

With this new album he released called 7220, Durk pretty much lets his fans into his feelings. Songs such as Headtaps, Shootout @ My Crib, Love Dior Banks are all examples of songs that he created to get listeners to understand what he's been going through in his life. Listening to these songs literally put me in my feelings because it's like you're the one going through it yourself. Durk is literally is a great artist to express his feelings 100%. He always takes what he goes through and puts it in his music. He even has songs that expresses the love he has for the mother of his children. The songs were India, India Pt.II, and lastly India Pt. 3. Just from listening to all of these songs, it makes me want to grab a bottle of cranberry-raspberry juice and just slide down the wall crying. This would be in the "Simp Moments" playlist on Apple Music.

In conclusion, we can put Durk as a lyricist now. However, I feel that way when he is deep in his feelings. Furthermore, I can definitely agree and say that Durkio is growing as an artist. Not only is he growing as an artist, he started his own record label called OTF (Only The Family) where he has signed King Von, Booka600, Memo600, and more Chicago based rappers. I love the aesthetic switch up he does every now and then. From gangsta to sensual, he can switch it up! I am a big supporter of Durk and I am very much here for his antics!
